Description:
Each session we’ll have instruction in different fiber related crafts like:
Yarn dyeing, knitting, Kumihimo (Japanese braiding), sewing, and felting.
Attended one of our previous sessions? Then, try out one or more of our NEW projects like:
Yarn basket weaving; Bead row counters, fleece hats, sit-upons, t-shirt art, rug making, and more.
We’ll work on projects like:
Project bag, needle holder, placemats, hats, t-shirts, jewelry, dolls, coin bags/purses/iPod holders, and so much more. Materials and actual projects may be different each session.
NEW THIS YEAR! 2 Special Sessions – Digital Media Knitting
Combine digital technology with fiber crafts. We’re offering 2 sessions this summer which combines digital video and photography with fiber crafts. Get a chance to be in front of and behind the camera, do basic editing, add music and special effects. Creativity happens here!
Special Sessions: June 23-27 and August 4-8
Sessions are targeted for ages 7-12.
All food is included. At least one visit per week to either Jamba Juice (am) or Baskin Robbins (pm)

Your chance to enjoy fun fiber activities, learn new techniques, connect with other knitters, AND enjoy the Carmel coastline.
Your camp getaway includes hotel room at the Hofsas House; breakfast on Saturday and Sunday morning; clinics on creative bowl making, constructing your own custom dress form, and basket weaving (all supplies except knitting needles included); fun and games; and of course, plenty of time for knitting.

Ok, so you’ve made a mistake; all is not lost. You don’t have to rip it out and start over. You can learn to read your knitting, determine the mistake and fix it. In this 2 hour power class, you’ll learn how to read your knitting, fix twisted stitches, pick up a dropped stitch (or 2), learn how to rip back your work, and use a lifeline.
Required Materials:
Knitted swatch (20 stitches by 3 or 4 inches long), small amount of worst weight yarn, straight needles of appropriate size for yarn, scissors, locking stitch markers

Keep your New Year's Resolution to use up your stash. This class with utilize color theory (a color wheel will be available for your use) and the mixing of textures to put together enough yarn to create a vest or shawl from your stash.
Learn to mix color, texture, and novelty yarns to create a one of a kind wearable art piece while using up yarns in your stash.
Required Materials:
Yarns of approximately the same weight in a variety of colors and textures. Lighter weight yarns can be held with multiple strands .
600-900 yds for Vest
1000 yds for Shawl
Needles 1 to 2 sizes larger than yarn
